The public supply is delivered as drinking water and is monitored. The condition of a building’s internal pipes or shared tank can still affect water after the supply point.
What is controlled
Spanish drinking water is regulated nationally, and Torrevieja’s provider reports a Water Safety Plan and certified food-safety management for the supply system.
That means the useful question is not simply whether municipal tap water is ‘drinkable’, but whether the exact building’s internal installation is in good condition.
The consumer’s tap
AGAMED distinguishes samples from the distribution network from samples at a consumer tap. Old internal pipes, a shared building tank or maintenance issues can affect the water after the provider’s delivery point.
If taste or appearance changes
Do not diagnose the cause from taste alone. Ask the building manager about the internal system and use the provider’s official contact or quality information for current local advice.
